What if all the parts of your digital life could work together to help you out?
For starters, they could do what you tell them. Like making sure Karen gets a copy of all the wedding photos from your camera - at least the ones that she's in. Or sending all the latest marketing notes to the team every night, unless Kai does it first. They could tell you exactly what that article was you read last week - or was it the week before? - about Burmese parenting techniques, and make sure your Roomba doesn't vacuum when the dog is around, but still gets it done before the boss and her husband come over for dinner.
Semantic (and pragmatic) knowledge isn't just about search. We see great potential in applying artificial intelligence methods to all kinds of problem domains, but it's by building new human-computer interfaces that we can really empower users.
An intelligent information platform and novel UIs can make possible the future you were told to expect when you were a kid. Maybe Rosie from The Jetsons; maybe the computer from the Enterprise.
Or maybe something totally different.
